Plasma IQ is the latest advancement in aesthetics that delivers focused, controlled plasma energy to safely and effectively create microinjuries on the skin, renewing and restoring it.
Microbeams of plasma are leveraged in a focused energy treatment, resulting in tightening and retraction of the skin tissues through controlled skin damage.

As the device is brought close to the skin during treatment, it ionizes nitrogen gas particles in the air to create a plasma arc that looks like a spark. The plasma arc causes sublimation of the epidermis of the skin; turning a solid into gas, resulting in immediate skin tightening and retraction in the target area. This method of plasma sublimation is highly targeted and controlled. It does not transfer heat to the surrounding area. The procedure creates tiny brown carbon crusts or scabs in the treated area that persist for approximately one week before dropping off. The microinjuries sustained during treatment promote the long-term firming, tightening, and smoothing effects that are part of the natural healing response.
Yes, local anaesthetic cream is applied for 45 minutes prior to treatment to
minimize any discomfort and the procedure is then virtually painless. Treatment
may feel hot in places and there may be a tingling or burning sensation
afterwards. Plasma IQ Pen technology has been used worldwide for several
years. There have been occasional reports of temporary post-treatment
hyperpigmentation (darkening of skin) but no other adverse events have been
reported. However, with any procedure involving the skin there is always the
possibility of micro-scars but this depends on your skin.
Following your PlasmaPen treatment, tiny dark brown/black spots may appear
or there may be an appearance more typical of a burn. This is expected.
Significant swelling (especially around the eyes) is completely normal and you
can expect it to last for up to a week. The area will often be red and warm
immediately after the procedure and can be quite tender for a few days. You are
advised to take 5 days off work as treatment will leave significant swelling
around eyes. This is normal.
Clients may experience a tingling or burning sensation. Crusting or scabbing
can develop and it is important to keep this clean, dry and protected from
intense sunlight and other sources of UV light to prevent uneven pigmentation
as the treated area recovers.
Final results after Plasma IQ Pen depend on severity of skin laxity or size of
lesion, the desired result, the general condition of the skin and any pre-existing
skin or medical problems.
Reduction in skin folds and creases appear immediately. The tiny dark brown
spots flake off over two to three weeks and the skin will heal within a similar
period. Swelling is common and can be quite pronounced around the eyes,
often worse the following morning and lasting for several days. The area may be
tender as it is healing and may scab.
It is important to allow any spots or scabs to fall off naturally otherwise scarring
or infection may occur. As the treated skin is sublimated, the results often last
years or permanently. Because we continue to age forward and not in reverse,
the appropriate medical grade products are provided at your treatment to
Immediately after treatment, there may be a burning sensation. This will usually
resolve during the remainder of the day, although, if it is particularly
uncomfortable or persists for a longer period, then an anti-inflammatory
medication such as Ibuprofen may be taken. However, we advise against using
it for optimal results.
Swelling is normal. This can be significant around the eyes and can last for
several days and may lead to interference with vision in the initial period. Antiinflammatory medication and/or anti-histamine may help alleviate the swelling.
Crusting will usually develop over the treated area, this will often initially be
brown or black on the surface of the skin and flake off over the following days. It
may take over 2 weeks to completely disappear.
To maximize the effects of your Plasma IQ Pen treatment we advise to keep the
circular carbon crusts / discoloration intact for 5-7 days and not rub them off
immediately. Keep the treated area clean, away from excessive moisture and
use the provided after care products. Keep the area protected using a broad
spectrum sunscreen. Mineral make-up may be applied from the third day of the
treatment onwards. Avoid exposing the area to extremes of heat or cold until it
has healed.

The Plasma IQ Pen treatment is a much less invasive (and less expensive)
alternative to surgery. Your skin does however, need a few days to heal properly.
Some clients prefer to have the treatment performed on a Friday and then return
to work as normal on Monday when most of the swelling and redness should
have reduced.
Plasma IQ Pen’s micro plasma flashes cause ‘crusts’ to form on the skin which
has a distinctive dotting effect. You can expect these to disappear in 5 – 7 days.
Our post-care products do help while the skin is healing.
